3 Getting Started

1 Tutorial for the first time

When run GiSeek for the first time, the wizard will pop up (Figure 2, Figure 3). Then GiSeek will scan each photo (including read EXIF information, feature extraction, face recognition, etc).

Scanning process runs automatically in the background without user intervention. For thousands photos, the scan will need a long time. Figure 4 shows the progress bar (in the bottom right of the main interface), which will show the progress.

Double-click the progress bar; you can see the scan dialog box, shown in Figure 5. The dialog shows the details information of scan.
Note: Each photo needs just one scan, so it’s better to add all photos directories, and wait for the end of scan. If user terminates the scanning process, GiSeek will continue to scan the remaining photos when next time opens the gallery.

4 Tips

1 Advanced Search

 Click the Search button. Set the parameters in the dialog box as figure 6.

The images satisfy the conditions will be in the “Search Results” view.

2 Download

When the current image contains faces, users can search the similar on-lineportrait. As shown below, click the right mouse button, pop-up menu. Click the “Download Similar Portrait”.

Note: “Download Similar Portrait” requires IE8.0 or later.

3 Similar Faces

When the image contains the face, there will be photos in the “similar face” view, which have similar face. These similar faces sort by the descending order of similarity.

GiSeek remove duplicate pictures fast and easy

GiSeek is powerful tool to find duplicate photos and remove duplicates. Just 2 steps to remove duplicates after you create the gallery.

1) Open “Tool” menu, click “Delete Duplicates” (Figure 1). Figure 2 shows the “Duplicate Photos” dialog. The “Image ListBox” lists all the duplicate images. For each picture, see “Detail ListBox”. There are detail information, include path, last modified time and MD5…

2) After select some files in the “Detail ListBox”, there are two buttons to remove files. If you click button “Delete Selected”, then the selected files will be deleted. If you click button “Delete Others”, then the unselected files will be deleted.

Note:       All deleted files will be removed to Recycle Bin, you can restore them in the Recycle Bin!
